Rich have more than the poor
Yet the poor give more
It is out of the little they give
Though their need is more
The rich give not even a little
Yet they ask for more
But the poor keep their doors ajar
Lest the needy find them closed
Poor value the little they have
And accept it with their head bowed
Being content with a few loaves of bread
They slog all day long and more
If the rich were made poor
And the poor made rich
Shall the poor give with open palms
Now that they are made rich
Or, shall He keep everyone poor
So that none loses his bearing
The less being his portion
He is rich in compassion and humility!
Yet the poor give more
It is out of the little they give
Though their need is more
The rich give not even a little
Yet they ask for more
But the poor keep their doors ajar
Lest the needy find them closed
Poor value the little they have
And accept it with their head bowed
Being content with a few loaves of bread
They slog all day long and more
If the rich were made poor
And the poor made rich
Shall the poor give with open palms
Now that they are made rich
Or, shall He keep everyone poor
So that none loses his bearing
The less being his portion
He is rich in compassion and humility!
