Taking stock

One is bound to contradict
the ways of the world
a passenger one is
and the world not their fiefdom

Those who consider the worldly ways
but within make their own way
though being not of the world
the world obeys what they say

Life is temporary on a sojourn
it experiences and learns what it wants
and if it doesn't it comes back again
to learn its lessons without fail

Take stock frequently what have you learnt
and whether you have learnt enough
if one lags they need to speed up
who knows who shall be suddenly pulled up!
