Lost in the woods

Silence that frightens
in the woods deep and dark
anything could happen
one may live or not

Cross country she ran
through the green forests
but lost herself midway
it was time for sunset

Tired and exhausted
she would have given up
but a faint hope flickered
that she may be discovered

Her thoughts went back
to her family and little one
who needed breast feed
and her mom to soothe her

The night fell
and darkness too
it poured heavily
and it was windy too

Shivering terribly
with her bare hands
the earth she dug deep
to protect herself

She lowered herself
into the hole she dug
and with some dust over her
she covered herself

So hungry and thirsty she was
nothing with her and around there was
so she drank her own breast milk
that rightfully belonged to her own baby

At day break she jumped out
to find a way around
a helicopter then hovered over
she waved her hands and jumped all over

She was rescued and a happy ending it was
but it is's not always so with every soul
one's fate hangs between life and death
to be lost in the woods is no joke!
