Law and justice

Law is blind
it treats all alike
in letter and spirit
and thus has power over each

But justice is fair
and needn't be blind
it is within the law
yet distinguishes in its own right

When there is divergence
between law and justice
law needs a relook
and justice its consequences

There is no doubt
that the law rules
but without justice
law has no tooth

Where justice prevails
without fail
such is the divine law
which none can escape!
