A grateful heart

Am I grateful for what there is
and for that too what's not?

Be grateful to a friend
and to him too
who won't befriend
what right have I
over anyone or anything
let me give back
what I took
and which I couldn't

Let me acknowledge
how indebted I remain
for making me me
and my days
wish I could do more
than they did for me
and pray I do everything
for those who struggle
each and every day
to make a living

Be grateful for that
with which one is blessed
and for that too
with which one is not
be grateful for the treasure
that none can match
a grateful heart
with which you are blessed!
