When you put your vehicle in reverse gear
it's necessary
when you speed up forward
it's to cover the distance fast
but faster than usual
it has its drawbacks
control your freedom
to ride steady and long
or take a plunge
to go fast or fall
fall but rise
and go on!

Cup of life

What's there in the cup of life?
it's empty inside!
fill it as you would
but while you fill it
be extra careful
that while being full
it feels light
as good as
it's empty inside!
What weighs heavy on mind
it makes the cup heavier
by adding worries to it of every kind.
Empty the cup of life and keep worries aside
and begin afresh to fill it as you like!

A visitor

If I say I stay in your heart
how can I be sure of that
and when you say I stay in your heart
are you sure you mean what you say?
Where I stay how can I say that
I am myself not sure where I belong!
We meet we talk and like a visitor we depart
carry love and smile and nothing else therefrom
as we prepare to go to our next stop!

Set an ideal

If we set for ourselves an ideal
and stick to it
and come what may
budge not an inch
greatness is not far behind
for it needs an ideal
to stand firmly on it
and wisdom gives wheels to an ideal
to go places and touch hearts
and accomplish unbelievable things!

Words make sense

even nonsensical words
when used again and again
a mother understands every word
as from a child's tongue it slips away
every specie speaks its own language
and that too in different ways
there're various ways to communicate
those who pay attention understand everything
what all is being conveyed!

Fresh air

Dive into life
come out of it
take a breath of fresh air
and go deeper into it
one life is too short
there is so much to it
what all is experienced
that is the main thing
and what all is missed
that's a different thing
but to run away from life
where is the wisdom in it?

History is a burden

stories have no weight
willingly they are lapped up
and teach in a beautiful way
Facts and stories when they
mingle with each other
interesting they become
and meaningful in a subtle way
An intelligent mind can discern the facts
but it takes a creative mind
to turn facts into a story
both are required to enhance understanding!
